At Lighthouse Creations we are passionate & professional yet caring & sensitive to your individual requirements and needs. All of our newborn sessions are taken on an individual basis and we spend time planning & preparing, washing & cleaning all backdrops, clothes and props ahead of your visit to us. We want you to relax, take a break and enjoy the session. We endeavour to make you & your newborn as comfortable as possible and our top priority is ensuring the safety and the support of your baby. As well as having a degree in photography, our lead photographer Chris also has a City& Guilds qualification specifically dedicated to Newborn photography to ensure you have complete peace of mind and your baby is in the safest of hands. 

Our goal here is to create beautiful, classic images that withstand the test of time. Our sessions are carefully scheduled so that we don't overbook and make your session with us feel rushed. We have a vast array of backdrops, outfits and props for you to look through and select and we'll work with you on the day to give our professional opinion. We'll fit as much into your studio session with us as possible.

Important Guidance

• As with all photography sessions we recommend booking your photoshoot with us as soon as possible to ensure availability. When booking we take your expected due date and pencil in a two week time frame after this date. If baby arrives early then thats absolutely fine, we'll book you in as soon as you're able to visit us. 

• We schedule a two week timeframe as newborn portraits are best done within the first 14 days of birth. If mother & baby are both doing well, ideally we'd prefer to photograph in the first 1st week as during this time baby is relaxed and still very sleepy so we're able to position them and hold them in place which makes it easier for us to create all of the adorable poses that families love.

• We offer a range of clothes, outfits and props in a variety of colours and fabrics which we encourage you to look through and use but we always encourage our clients to bring any clothes you want our baby to be specifically photographed in.

• Newborn photoshoots are completely baby lead so preparation is key. If they're hungry or sleepy then this can cause delays during your sessionso having them arrive relaxed and calm is always beneficial. We recommend feeding about 30 minutes before arriving at the studio and always bring extra feeds so that if they wake, feeding them a bit more will help your baby doze back off.  We also have toilets on site and have our own baby changing station and cleaning products if accidents happen. 

• Sometimes your newborn will have little scratches or dry skin when they arrive into the world, this is completely normal. Using baby lotions, oils or creams a few days before your newborn shoot can ease these issues. However; at Lighthouse Creations we have the expertise and experience to enable us to retouch and edit any imperfections from the final edits.
